Six injured after truck slams into daycare in Florida

Authorities responded to the Building Blocks Daycare in Clearwater, Florida after a truck crashed into the building around 5:23 p.m. Three adults and three children were taken to nearby hospitals following the incident.

Responders stated that a grandmother was pulling into the parking lot to pick up a child when the crash occurred. She saw a small child near her truck and accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brakes. The woman hit the building, a mother, her three small children, and a teacher.

All of the victims arrived at the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and in stable condition. The grandmother was cited with a careless driving ticket.

The city will be out to examine the building’s damages later this week.
