A teenage boy in Coweta County, Georgia is in custody after leading a police chase. The car chase ended with him crashing into a home, killing a woman inside.
Around 2:30 a.m., a deputy tried to pull over a car that failed to dim its headlights. The car sped off, traveling over 130 mph.
During the chase, the driver lost control of the vehicle and drove into a home on the 900 block of Johnson Road. He slammed into the front porch and knocked out the main electrical breaker.
The car hit a woman that was in the bedroom of the home, sending her to the hospital where she died due to her injuries. A man was also injured and taken to a nearby hospital.
The woman has been identified as Annette Rush.
After being medically cleared, the 14-year-old boy was taken into custody. The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office will be handling the traffic offenses while the Georgia State Patrol handles the homicide by vehicle charge.
The name of the teenage boy has not been released.
