Better add extra time to your commute, I-10 is heavy loaded in Texas!

Two 18-wheeler crashes have been reported this morning and authorities say one crash was caused by a wrong-way driver and could cause many problems this morning for I-10 commuters in Waller County.

Around 1:30am a crash had been reported that A pickup truck driver was heading the wrong way and slammed into an 18-wheeler, DPS confirmed to ABC13.

This caused the big rig to catch fire. The massive flames coming from the truck were captured on Houston TranStar cameras.

The pickup truck driver, who DPS said was going westbound in the eastbound lanes, had been taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, the big rig driver’s condition is not known. Authorities only said that there were minor injuries.

Another set of first responders were on scene over by FM1489 & I-10 where another 18-Wheeler had crashed in the outbound lanes. One person has been rescued from the wreck.

All outbound lanes are blocked but drivers can take FM 1093 or feeder road as an alternate route.
