A Dallas accident involving 4 vehicles leaves 1 dead

Dallas County deputies responded to a crash involving four vehicles on eastbound I-30 and Dolphin Road early yesterday morning

The officer found the Dallas Fire Department blocking off a white box truck and Chevy Malibu, which were both involved in the accident. The driver of the white truck was seen walking frantically around the scene before he ran towards the I-30 Service Road. Authorities think he might have been picked up by someone in a sedan.

The driver of the Chevy Malibu was identified as 29-year-old Terence Ware, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

A third vehicle was parked on the right shoulder and remained at the scene to speak with individuals.

However, a fourth vehicle was involved and witnesses explained that the driver fled the scene, traveling eastbound on I-30.

As officials were still on the scene around 6 a.m., a GMC pickup truck drove through the line of deputy vehicles and headed towards the scene. A deputy used his car to get in front of the vehicle and stop the driver from entering the accident scene. The squad car and truck collided, which stopped the vehicle from traveling any further.

The truck driver was identified as 45-year-old David Orocio. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. He was taken to the hospital and will be booked into the Dallas County jail after he is discharged.

The deputy driving the squad car suffered no injuries.
