A woman was hit by a car at 1:30 a.m. in Scottsdale, Arizona. The car that hit her was being driven by an Arizona State football player.
The woman was identified as 23-year-old Norah Bruther who was visiting Arizona from New Jersey. She was staying near the area of Camelback and Miller roads, where the crash took place.
The football player, Stanley Lambert, is 22 years old and facing DUI charges. He is a redshirt senior from San Antonio. The school’s athletics department is aware of the tragedy and has made a statement expressing their condolences to the family of Bruther.
Police released Lambert from custody while they await lab results. He was booked into the city jail on one count of driving under the influence and a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent or greater.
