During a blizzard on the I-81 in central Pennsylvania there was a massive pile up causing the Interstate to close temporarily earlier this week. Authorities aren’t sure what caused the accident, but there have been several videos surfacing of multiple accidents due to the pile up.
The death toll is currently at six lives lost and 24 others were taken to four different hospitals nearby with minor and major injuries. The other people involved that were not injured would be transported to a rendezvous point set up by first responders in order to meet up with loved ones.
The videos being posted are hard to watch and in one video you can witness a man nearly get hit after a sedan crashed into his car while he was standing next to it. The interstate would soon be filled with a mix of mangled cars and commercial vehicles, but the worst was the massive fires as the semis would start to burn. Some vehicles would be burned while others would be melting on the interstate.
There would be a total of 80 vehicles involved in this accident with 39 being commercial vehicles and 41 pedestrian vehicles.
Many of the drivers who were not injured in the accident would go on to either film the chaotic accident or help other drivers and make sure they were okay.
