Authorities responded to an accident involving former Colombia soccer player Freddy Rincon in California. Rincon was rushed to the hospital after his car crashed into a bus around 4:30 a.m. The accident involved a van with four people inside, Rincon, and a bus.
Rincon was one of five people injured, as of right now. Authorities are still reviewing traffic cameras to assess the situation. A local clinic stated that he was taken into head surgery and then placed in intensive care. The surgery lasted three hours and he still remains in critical condition.
They did not elaborate much further on his condition. However, a spokesperson for the clinic stated that their findings are very serious.
Rincon’s History
Rincon was born in 1966 in Buenaventura, Colombia. He was a key player in the ‘90s and played in three World Cups. He is known for scoring against West Germany in the 1990 World Cup and also scoring in the game against Argentina in 1993.
He retired in 2004 and spent his time coaching teams in Brazil.
