On the I-35 headed into Fort Worth, Texas, there was ice on the roads causing cars to slip and crash and leading to multiple accidents. In only a moment Fort Worth would experience one of its worst disasters to this day. A disastrous backup involving 133 vehicles temporarily shut down the I-35 and it wouldn’t open for a while.
Images from the accident show tangled balls of metal which used to be cars, semi trucks on top of cars, and semis on top of semis. The morning of this disaster the nationwide news would be showing a live feed of the area and viewers were able to see many vehicles crash into each other.
Authorities report at least six deaths and 65 injured due to the accident, and half of the injured needed to be rushed to the hospital. The people who did not go to the hospital were treated on the scene.
This event was truly life changing for some of the victims as they suffered severe injuries as well as mental trauma.
