Authorities are still investigating a crash that involved three vehicles near Fort Hood. Two vehicles were racing each other on Interstate 14 before a third vehicle was struck.
DPS troopers found that a 21-year-old was driving a 2018 black Mercedes and racing a gray Audi. The two vehicles collided near Clear Creek Road and then proceeded to hit a 2007 blue Ford Taurus. The man driving the Ford was 57 years old who was seriously injured in the accident.
Investigators found content on social media that indicated the Mercedes had caught on fire and was burning when responders arrived.
The driver of the Audi fled the scene and authorities are looking for any information on the individual.
Traffic was backed up for more than an hour that morning while responders tended to the scene.
