Street Racing Kills One and Injuries Multiple People

Investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department say that two vehicles, a black Mini Cooper and a BMW were traveling at high speeds northbound on Corbin Avenue around 8 p.m., causing fiery death in their path.

The 28-year old man driving the BMW was pronounced dead at scene while another victim succumbed to her injuries after being transported for treatment by emergency services personnel who have yet release names due to police respecting family privacy during this time of loss.

These two cars may have been racing when they crashed, and at least nine other vehicles were involved in this fiery collision. “They (the drivers) lost control,” said Lisa Gilbert who witnessed the accident; she also reported that one of them crossed into oncoming traffic before hitting head-on with another car near Corbin Avenue around.

A home security video shows the moment of impact, with a large burst of flames as both cars were set ablaze. It is believed that one engine block was separated during this collision causing intense heat which incinerated them both.
