A 45-year-old woman was killed in Florida last night after her Jeep SUV was t-boned at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Whiteview Parkway.
The woman was traveling north on U.S. 1 when she stopped at a red light and prepared to turn left onto Whiteview. The Florida Highway Patrol reports that she turned left, violating the right of way of a pickup truck traveling towards her.
The truck slammed into the Jeep and caused it to spin onto the right shoulder of the highway.
Authorities received the call around 7 p.m. on Wednesday. An emergency helicopter was launched to pick up the patient until paramedics decided to transport her to AdventHealth Palm Coast by ground. The responders were confident she was not in the condition to be transported to Daytona Beach’s trauma
center.
The woman suffered major injuries from the accident and later was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The passengers of the truck were identified as a 44-year-old woman, 13-year-old girl, and 25-year-old man who were all from Palm Coast. They were taken to AdventHealth Hospital with minor injuries.
The woman’s identity has not been released. The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the fatal accident.
