On March 30th, Carlton Keegan died at the age of 18, as a passenger in the car being driven by his friend. The driver crashed into a tree but only suffered minor injuries.
Reports say that no arrests have been made so far and investigators are looking into speed and other factors that played into the incident.
Scotts Valley High School is mourning the loss of their student, according to social media posts made by students and faculty. Donation pages have been set up for the family and have raised $3,100 to help cover costs.
The crash remains under investigation as authorities look into the causes of the crash.
